 Re: Trim-Slice Precise armhf
Thanks Valentin. Is the R16 kernel source available?

 Re: Trim-Slice Precise armhf
Nvidia has released Linux for Tegra R16.2.
Does Trim Slice L4T 16.01 utilize this latest Nvidia release ?

 Re: Trim-Slice Precise armhf
In regards to L4T R16 (Ubuntu Precise) and in comparison to earlier versions:
1. What immediate benefits does this new release offer to the community ?
2. What possible benefits does this new release offer to the community ?
3. What direction should the developer community take in response to the release ?

 Re: Trim-Slice Precise armhf
Great!
Is it possible to simply upgrade existing natty installations via "apt-get dist-upgrade"?
Possible approach: * Fetch and compile the 16.01 kernel (done) * replace natty with precise in all /etc/apt/sources.list(s) * replace armel with armhf * do apt-get dist-upgrade -t precise
Would that work?
I am somewhat hesitant to test that out. I have only one trimslice and thats heavily used in production ....

 Re: Trim-Slice Precise armhf
You can't do that. There would be a mix of hard and soft float at the same time while installing. There is probably ways of upgrading but copy of data and configs, and burn new image, will be quickest

 Re: Trim-Slice Precise armhf
If you have a stable working system, I'd recommend to take the GL830 + SanDisk SSD fix only.
Officially CompuLab will support only the latest L4T R16 release.

 Re: Trim-Slice Precise armhf
Hi,
after installing the armhf image we can't log into the obtained system (tried serial console, X11, ssh) using any of the users (including root). Tried to specify or not specify the passwords during installation with the same result. Resetting the passwords in maintenance mode did not work as well.
Any ideas of what might have gone wrong?

 Re: Trim-Slice Precise armhf
Hi Voivv,
Could you please post your system console log when you tried to log in with the root credentials? One more: While in maintenance mode, could you please save and post the log of your xterm window?
Regards, Valentin.
