Post How do I disable auto-login to root?
Hello,

I have tried disabling auto-login according to this article:

http://superuser.com/questions/783560/l ... t-password

by issuing the following command:

Code:
echo manual | tee /etc/init/openvt.override

When I reboot, I am automatically logged in as root again. I have gone as far as deleting the openvt.conf file to no avail.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike

Ok. So I have resolved my own issue.

The commands in the above post disable autologin for the video console. For a while, I was solely working on the debug console. That is why I could not see the results of the commands.

In order to disable auto-login on the debug console, comment out AUTOGETTY_ARGS:

Code:
nano /etc/default/autogetty

#AUTOGETTY_ARGS=" -n -l /bin/auto-root-login"
