Post Displaylink screens on Utilite2
Hi,
I would like to set up a Displaylink USB monitor on the Utilite2 computer.
I managed to make it work on the original Utilite, but I'm having problems on setting it up correctly on the Utilite2. So I decided to create a new thread here instead of continuing the original thread

What I did so far:
  • Compiled the Displaylink display module in the kernel and enabled it.
  • Created a configuration file for the X server in /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d
The first step went well, I get the green screen on the Displaylink monitor. It apperas as /dev/fb1 and I can run framebuffer applicatons on it.
After the second step, the screen turns black and nothing happens. The computer remains responsive, I can still work on the console. Everything looks well on the Xorg.0.log and the dmesg file.
I could get a step further by disabling the login screen and setting the gnome-fallback-metacity as desktop: in this case the background image fades in, but then it stops responding. I get no panels, no mouse cursor, no response from the X server at all.

Can anybody help me from here?
